The numbers underscore the urgency of addressing the issues related to the intelligence of the cities completely.
Portugal 2020: 2 billion euro for smart sustainable cities.
Banco Mundial: 2,96 billion euro for urban development.
Horizonte 2020: 5,9 billion euro out of a total of 80 billion euro, for areas with secure, clean and efficient energy, up until 2020. 51% of European cities with over 100 thousand inhabitants have already implemented urban intelligence initiatives. (Mapping Smart Cities in the EU report – 2014).
1,565 trillion dollars is the predicted value for the smart cities’ market in 2020.
And these are, and other data, which reveal the need to think in perspective “buttom-up” indispensable to the progress of urban centers.
The international conference ZOOM SMART CITIES will take place in Lisbon, Portugal.
Portugal is a country with many case studies in the area of mobility, waste, environment, energy, among other areas.
Lisbon is one of the most attractive, innovative and creative cities in the European landscape. However, there is still a line of communication and knowledge sharing that takes intelligence as a political design and administration, more than a label.
The ZOOM SMART CITIES arises with the aim of projecting Lisbon, Portugal, in the international context, as an example of a city and a country that think and plan, pointing ways rather than criticism and solutions rather than objections.
The ZOOM SMART CITIES will take place on 18 and 19 May 2016.
They are two days of conferences, debate and reflection, with the aim of instill a disruptive dynamic in how the Smart Cities are thought in Portugal. In fact, the sharing of information, the release of topics for the community begins now. And after the event, this constant need for continuous updating, monitoring what is done and think around the world, continue doing Zoom, on the themes that at any time more interest the society.
